Successful Apprenticeship Building on ICT and Entrepreneurial Needs - SABIEN

Targeting young apprentices and trainees aged 15-20 years, the SABIEN project aims to enhance the skills and motivation of this group by offering appropriate motivational training tools to stimulate creativity and self-organisation. Project partners will conduct a training needs analysis of current VET, as offered to the target group, across the partner countries. Using the results of the analysis, partners will develop a common blueprint for training modules able to be applied in all the partner countries and which reflects the ICT and entrepreneurial needs of young people. ICT tools will be developed that can engage the target group and encourage entrepreneurial skills development. Emphasis will be placed on the development of interactive training tools such as games, CD-Rom and through use of the project website. A series of eight training modules will be developed for use with different groups in different training scenarios for which actual training content will be devised by a project steering committee. All partners will be involved in piloting the developed training modules with results of the pilot phase influencing the eventual modules. Project partners will be responsible for the dissemination at local level, which will include contacting potential user groups, policy makers, trainers and training developers. Regular updates on project progress will be disseminated in written and/or e-mail form and a series of seminars will be organised across the partner countries to further promote the project.
