Student Active Learning in Science Project (SALiS) intends to promote and support the contemporary science education by strengthening societal relevant, inquiry-based and student-active science teaching and learning in participating countries. Partner Universities will develop, implement and promote SALiS curriculum for in and pre-service training of school science teachers. For these very purposes the following human and technical capacities of the universities will be addressed:- The curriculum will be developed along with the course syllabi and teaching and learning materials. Both in and pre-service training modules will be developed along with the curriculum guides for the professors.- The beneficiary Universities will equip the special training laboratories for acquisition of skills relevant for inquiry based science education and SALiS philosophy in general. The equipment will be chosen collaboratively and the laboratory usage manuals will be produced.- Twenty four professors and at least twelve staff members from beneficiary countries will be trained in teaching according to SALiS and maintenance of the training labs. Twelve staff members will be trained in the maintenance of the SALiS website.- By the end of the project SALiS curriculum will be officially adopted and offered by all target institutions to both future and existing teachers of science.- The SALiS website featuring both international and local versions will be created which will host the teaching and learning materials, information on the SALiS philosophy, best practices and periodical updates. The final conference for the stakeholders at the end of the project will outline the lessons learned and future development opportunities for SALiS in the partner countries and beyond. - The monitoring and evaluation instruments both for the project duration and afterwards will be produced in order to ensure the ongoing quality management of the implementation of SALiS.
