According to the European Commission expertise, the building sector accounts for nearly 40% of the EU total energy consumption. In this context the implementation of new technologies in the building industry is crucial as far as the energy efficiency objective is concerned. The InCITE project aims to establish a regional cluster in the field of building energy. It will constitute the innovation, construction, industry and environmental technology center (InCITE). The project will be based on the public-private partnership between ARMINES research entity, the AGATE local economic development agency and the TBC private company specialized in the construction innovation. The project management will be assured by the AGATE agency on behalf of the General Council – the local authority. The project partners aim to set up a cluster that will correspond to the local market profile and that will cover all necessary competences from generating ideas into the industrialization of products in the domains of renewable energies, building intelligent management, dynamic isolation, thermal isolation, natural insulation, new building materials and new construction methods. The cluster will be open for any other institutions and enterprises interested in the building energy efficiency issues. Therefore one of the most important project tasks will consist of communication and creation of a regional network. InCITE Project will become a regional development tool that will contribute to the growth of employment and entrepreneurship. By promoting the sustainable development in the energy sector and innovation, the project will also have a positive impact on the European level. The project web site will be available in English version so that it could be consulted by actors from other European regions.
