Schildt Upper Secondary School is recently formed school with strong interest in internationalizing of the staff and students. We have nearly 1200 students: while we unify two strong schools, among our students there are top sportsmen and musicians as well as ambitious students with high professional goals. We see their future studying and working life very global and thus providing eg. some education in English is our near future goal. Our teachers are highly professional and many of them know already several languages.
With this mobility project we want to strengthen teachers' courage to use different languages and reflect their own profession from a wider global perspective. We have many foreign visitors throughout the school year and would like teachers to be ready to welcome them in the classroom, maybe try some peer teaching as well. Clil teaching is also in our near future agenda.
English is the most useful language considering these issues and realizing these plans but we do want to strengthen also other European languages. That is why we want to send five teachers to English course, two teachers to French course, one to Spanish course and one to English speaking course in Italy. We truly believe that teachers using more bravely their language skills benefit in the end most the students: curious, active teachers ready to learn about the actual global world bring up similar youth!
