Strengthening and Disseminating Middle Management ..
Strengthening and Disseminating Middle Management Training in the European Training Sector - EMMT2
Based upon the results of the previously funded Leonardo project EMMT1, the EMMT2 project will develop a larger network of partners to promote the training of middle managers in the European VET sector. Traditionally, middle managers in the VET sector are recruited amongst teachers without any professional management qualifications. The project will build upon the outcomes of EMMT1 to improve the analysis and anticipation of skills requirements for middle management training in VET. A strong emphasis will be placed on the 'European dimension' in management training and courses will further develop a new structure for English language instruction. Given the results of EMMT1, the improved EMMT2 training programme will be piloted and applied in different partner countries. Following evaluation, a 'best practice' training model will be created for application with different user groups. Training will consist of four core modules for delivery over three days. Training will be accompanied by teaching material and a trainer's guide and will be delivered flexibly via on-the-job training. Mentors, who are senior managers, will be appointed from the project's partner organisations to oversee and direct the development of the project's training programme in line with the needs of different organisations. The project will cooperate with The European Forum for Vocational and Technical Education and Training (EFVET) to create a broader European partnership that can facilitate exchange of knowledge and experience in middle management training and together with the partners' national networks, can assist in the dissemination process. The final training package will be presented on the EFVET website and via other related sites and will also be represented at a variety of related national and international seminars/meetings.
