DGI is hosting, and the following countries will be sending young people: United Kingdom, Belgium, Portugal, Germany, France, Italy, Denmark. Each organisation will send 8 young people, split between males and females, and 2 group leaders. The projects objectives are to:1. Develop cultural understanding between the different groups2. To build the range of skills of the young people around leading and supporting sporting activity for their peers and for younger people.3. To get young people to recognise and value the role of volunteers in the delivery of sporting and youth activityYoung people to recognise and understand how their use of language influences the impression that is made of them as a leader/volunteer.The learning methods will be a variety of informal learning activities, where young people are actively involved in practical planning and implementation as well as fun games and activities to build confidence and skills. We have a range of very experienced and skilled youth exchange workers who have a variety of methods of delivery - the project will encourage the young people to explore those methods themselves and then choose how they wish to lead activity both during the exchange and when they return home. As well as leading and supporting physical activity for local young people, the participants will also get the chance to try a range of sporting and other cultural activities from the participating countries.
