The project consists of two activities taking place in various receiving institutions. Volunteers work with children and youth with "difficult" environments or people with intellectual disabilities. Volunteer time is 9, each of them will spend 12 months in Poland, working in different branches of Caritas in the Tri-City and surrounding areas. Volunteers come from countries ie. Spain, Portugal, Republic of Macedonia, Georgia, Ukraine, Belarus.The aim of the project is to create a platform for intercultural dialogue among young people and people with disabilities, establish mutual understanding and to get to know each other. Target will be implemented through joint actions of EVS volunteers and pupils of our centers. These include sports, arts, help in learning English or other languages, help people with disabilities in daily activities. We are also open to their suggestions, particularly related to their culture, art, traditional dances, food, games etc. With EVS volunteers our patients have the opportunity to establish direct contact with another culture. Both sides can exchange information about their countries, art and food in order to better know each other.The working methods involves first weeks of adaptation, integration and intensive course of Polish, language, which later can continue once in a week. In the second month familiarize volunteer employees, the nature of the work of the institution and know the rules of operation. Then the joint discussion and preparation of activities and their implementation. Then the gradual empowerment volunteer in preparing and conducting classes. The effect of being a EVS volunteer is to acquire new knowledge and skills, i.e. The experience in social work, learning other cultures, languages, foods, etc. In addition, the development features i.e.: confidence, creativity, communication and organizational skills.
