Stimulation of the Tourism Development in the Carpathian Region by Tourists Service and Security Improvement (IPBU.01.02.00-76-044/10)

The main goal of the project is to support the development of tourism in the Polish – Ukrainian cross-border part of the Carpathian Mountains (Lviv oblast and Podkarpackie voivodeship), focusing on safety of tourists and travel advisory. The project fosters at cooperation between guides, rescuers, local authorities and business on both sides of the border, as well as unites the efforts and solves the safety problems comprehensively. Expected Results: The project involves the establishment of the Training Centre for mountain guides and search and rescue service in Dovge as well as the establishment and provision of equipment in two new Public Search-Rescue Points (in Scole rayon and Drohobych rayon, Lviv oblast). In addition, new tourist routes are to be located with tourist-information signs along with information about Public Search-Rescue Points functioning and promotion based on common identification system.The activities of the project also include joint trainings for the purpose of sharing knowledge and methods, provision of effective assistance in case of emergency and definition of rules and conduct standards for tourists in terms of safety and protection of the environment.One of the main project goals will be the transfer of Public Search-Rescue Points gained experience to other regions/oblasts of Ukraine.
