Step-by-Step - Youth Entrepreneurship Academy
Step-by-Step - Youth Entrepreneurship Academy
Start date: May 1, 2015,

PROJECT
FINISHED
The proposed project - Step-by-Step - Youth Entrepreneurship Academy - is a long-term, multi-measure initiative of partner promoters from Europe, Asia and Africa, aimed at developing competences of those working with young people (staff members of partner organisations, including voluntary staff, youth leaders, coaches in the youth field, etc), necessary in supporting youth in reaching their entrepreneurial and creative potential required by the present day job markets. The aim, in turn, will be reached through successively implementing the following project objectives:- Exchanging experience and information related to the issues affecting young people in partner countries nowadays, particularly in the context of the job markets and development of entrepreneurial skills;-Increasing promoters knowledge and understanding of entrepreneurship, entrepreneurial education as well as non-formal education as the means to aid personal and professional development of young people; - Exchanging experience, best practices, previous successful projects, tools and methods related to supporting young people in effectively looking for employment opportunities and/or undertaking their own ventures (e.g. youth-led projects, start-ups, etc.);- Developing partners competences in networking with and brining new parties (e.g. local government bodies, entrepreneurs, HE institutions, etc.) into supporting young people in further increasing entrepreneurial skills; - Creating an international network of organisations willing to further promote the need for continuous personal and professional development as well as development of entrepreneurial attitudes among youth. In order to achieve better and more sustainable results as well as to support participants in their practical implementation of competences gained, the following project has been divided into four distinct stages: - Introductory training course- Study visit - Practice period - Final Seminar. The successive stages (except for practice period) will take place in Poland over the project lifetime (May 2015-April 2017). This very structured approach was thought to be the optimum way of having 30 youth workers and youth leaders trained as both multipliers of entrepreneurial education as well as coaches for the future entrepreneurial initiatives undertaken by youth within their local areas. Subsequently, young people will have the chance to benefit in quality and professional support when searching for employment, setting up a start-up or simply undertaking a project. At the same time, partner promoters involved will benefit from engaging in the think-tank created by the project, thus taking away valuable knowledge, skills, ideas for further work back home as well precious contacts for the future partnerships. Also, we hope that the project inspires other organisations to take similar steps towards supporting young people through the international youth work initiatives.
