The project is a sort of investment in vocational training improvement through innovative and student-centred pedagogical approach. The project develops appropriate methods of assessment and certification, based on learning outcomes. Additionally, strong emphasis is put on learning foreign languages.
Project realization, which is expected to last for years, is designed for technical college students. The school’s partner is an institution from Germany.
Technical college students of the third grade will be the participants of the project. The project involves practical training for 36 students divided in 2 groups with 18 students each. They will be accompanied by two supervising teachers. The training will last 3 weeks. Participants are involved in 3 different specializations: automotive, building engineering and NC machine tool.
The main aim of the project is to acquire new vocational skills by the selected students, e.g.: getting practical usage of modern technologies connected with automotive branch, building branch and mechanical branch.
The next important goal of the project is to improve participants language skills. It concerns not only breaking barriers but also developing speaking and listening skills. But most of all, it is about familiarizing students with technical language.
Participation in the project will also have an influence on students's personal development who will learn how to cope with stress, find themselves in new situations and live in a foreign country.
German partner is going to prepare special cultural programmes for participants in order to develop their cultural competences. Students will acquaint themselves with the country, its history, culture and traditions through visiting German cities.
The main result of the project will be to obtain particular certificates, including Europass - Mobility, which confirm acquired skills and professional experience.
Students will be provided with practical training in German specialized workshops, that are known to the workers of sending organization.
The sending organization is going to support all participants with proper transport to Germany and to Poland, insurance policies and a language course. Students will be accompanied by two supervising teachers and they are going to get German - Polish dictionaries and protective clothing.
Before students go for their practical training, there will be many activities undertaken in order to prepare their training period professionally. These activities involve students pedagogical and cultural preparation.
The German partner will provide accommodation, food, local transport and a few trips across west Germany.
Project is planned to be monitored by both partners and when the project finishes, the impact will be put on successful evaluation, dissemination and exploitation of results.
Result dissemination will include a special conference organized for representatives of cooperating companies, school – board and city hall, teachers, students and parents. What's more, all the inforamtion about the project are going to be presented on the school website, in a local newspapers, during open days and school fair.
The project will have a strong impact on participants, school itself, local community and the whole region because it will prepare 36 young people to better and more effective work. Thanks to final mobility assessment prepared according to ECVET rules, students will be able to gain easier recognition of their skills and qualifications in European Union countries. Additionally, the project will contribute to higher competitiveness of the Polish school on the educational market, higher school enrolment and its prestige.
What is more, it is going to provide long term benefits for the students because recognition of different customs, mentality and culture is always an added value in individuals' professional and personal life. The project is a part of European school development programme because ZSSB is aware of the necessity of undertaking such projects. In order to be qualified for European projects, students are doing their best to have better grades because they are important in recruitment process. In addition to this, the school will compete in order to get financial support for projects. The school wants to be an institution which is opened to international cooperation because it brings benefits not only to students but also to teachers. Projects realization enables development on many levels, eg. project management, learning new languages.
ZSSB is the institution that will make all necessary efforts to ensure the highest quality of the project it has planned.
