Truc sphérique is NGO founded in 1998 that operates Stanica - the cultural node of contemporary arts and cultural/social activities based in the building of local railway station Žilina-Záriečie in Slovakia. Stanica´s activities include presentations of all-genres of arts (concerts, dance and theatre performances, screenings, exhibitions), discussions, workshops and educational activities, development of the urban area, young people (both artists and audience) and their creative and engaged involvement in the intercultural dialogue and social interaction. Main goal of this project is an integration of the volunteer into the organization, using his existing skills and experience, at the same time developing a new set of skills, theoretical as well as practical knowledge he will gain in the environment of independant cultural venue. The volunteer will become a part of the multifunctional team whose members teach and learn from each other. Volunteer will be directly in the process of everyday mutual teaching/learning process during which he will share his knowledge base with others and at the same time, the staff will train him in fields of work necessary for running an indepedant cultural place like Stanica. Active participation of the volunteers in this process is vital and brings lot of newly gained skills for the volunteer, as well as it enriches the value of the hosting organization itself. Taking part in everyday life of organization will give the volunteer lot of different impulses leading to her professional but also personal growth and will hopefully help to find the volunteer’s future direction. EVS project in Stanica usually makes a big impact on the individual experiencing this kind of long-term volunteer residency mainly thanks to wide diversity of activities taking place and versatility of people involved. The volunteer will not only have space for realization of his own ideas, projects and events but also possibility to interact with other volunteers and all the staff present and working in the organization. It is an individual EVS project of Iuri Bursulaia and the activities will be twelve months long, beginning at 1 July 2014 and the end is planned on 30 June 2015.
