PROJECT
FINISHED
This Erasmus+ Mobility FPI project is presented by the EPLEFPA(Public Agricultural Vocational School )of Bordeaux Gironde together with 6 other partner schools in the Aquitaine Region : the EPLEFPA of Dordogne, Terres de Gascogne, Landes, Lot et Garonne and Pyrénées Atlantiques and the DRAF ( Agriculture and Forestry Regional Department ) ;
Each VET entity is composed of 1 to 3 vocational schools. Thus the beneficiaries of this regional project will be the students from the 15 agricultural vocational schools. All of them have to accomplish work placements outside the schools, whether in France or abroad. A European mobility will bring additional experience and knowledge to their curriculum and enable them to discover a professional world in a much broader context than the regional or national one.
This project corresponds to the implementation of the Ministry of Agriculture policy to develop learners 'mobility through assignments given to the schools to develop international co-operation as well as social and professional inclusion. It is also supported by the Regional Council of Aquitaine with the same aim to develop professional, linguistic and cultural skills. This corresponds to the European Commission recommendations of development of student mobility in VET and it is perfectly adapted to an agricultural region like the Aquitaine Region. The aim is to encouraging the students’ adaptability and open-mindedness, to develop their capacity to speak a foreign language, help them follow the evolutions of their future profession governed by the Common Agricultural Policy and give them the required capacity to take new job opportunities in the fields of agro tourism or the valorisation of agricultural products.
The 6 EPLEFPA had already applied in a regional consortium for trainee work placements in European countries; they wish to put together all their skills and go on working in a federating project which will benefit their students. They want to send about 5 to 10 % of them ( girls and boys ) abroad.
Their ambition is to create a regional listing of participating foreign companies, to set up perennial partnerships with European schools as intermediate partners , and host their students in France in a reciprocity approach. The partners will work with reliable management tools already used in former projects and they will maintain the high quality standards through out the project.
The 6 EPLEFPA of the Aquitaine Region had applied for 151 trainee mobility grants of 2 to 4 weeks to give their pupils a real European dimension and contribute to the education of future European citizens. They had also applied for 16 accompanying grants.
As a first Erasmus + application it was eventually necessary to make an amendment to the contract once the new management rules with different amounts according to the destinations were known.to make sure that the subsidy was properly run in the framework of a consortium.This decision was also made considering the anxiety caused by the international situation and terrorist attacks.
The new contract was established with 108 trainee mobility grants, 9 accompanying grants and 1 staff training mobility. this new contract was respected and all the activities that were planned were implemented.New host companies were identified and thanks to the accompanying grants many were validated as priviledged partner.
The co-operation between the partner vocational schools in the consortium has been re-inforced and has enabled some of them to increase the number of mobilities and diversify the destination countries for their pupils.
