PROJECT
FINISHED
The global socio-economic situation has mainly affected young people, having delayed their age of emancipation and having affected their needs in the fields of employment, entrepreneurship, political inclusion, citizenship rights protection, and education. This project aims to promote the exchange of experiences between young people from different countries, enabling them to express their concerns through the theater of the oppressed, a tool which promotes dialogue and empathy for the situation depicted in the theatre play.During the 7 days + 2 travelling days of the project, the 30 participants (including leaders) from 6 different associations will participate in debate and theatre of the orpressed activities that will allow them to express the situation of young people in their countries of origin and in Europe in general. At the end of the exchange, participants will give visibility to the situation of European youth in a final performance consisting of a theatre play created by the participants themselves.Elegible participants will be interested in the performing arts and will be motivated to exchange experiences with young people from other countries in Europe. It is expected that at the end of the exchange participants will have improved their capacities of personal and social autonomy, their ability to relate to young people from other cultures and their theatrical skills. It is also expected, that this project will have an impact on the general perception of society towards the problems faced by young people. It is for this reason that the whole exchange will be documented, that way the young participants will be able to spread the results of the exchange in their countries of origin. In the long term, it is expected that this project will help participants to express their needs and that the documentation material will help to spread the problems faced by young people nowadays as well as the theater of the oppressed as a working tool in the work with youth at risk of exclusion and /or in the process of emancipation.
