Project background :With the changes in the regional labour markets into a European labour market the requirements at our school have changed. Our school should and wants to prepare our students for Europe and for the European labour market. That is why the staff‘s intercultural knowledge has to be significantly improved.Intercultural skills are a multidisciplinary competence and an essential part of a Europe open school. The skills should be learned in intercultural training courses and project management training courses. Important for us is that our teachers attend the courses together with teachers from other countries, so that the cross-cultural learning can not only take place during the training course period, but also during the whole seminar time . At the same time our teachers have the opportunity to intensively meet potential project partners and plan with them school exchanges and e- twinning. We also aim to improve in the field of various teaching medhods and to do so, training courses regarding new methods, critical thinking and ICT skills are essential for our staff. In order to decrease conflicts concerning racism, prejudices and different needs, the staff needs to be in situations that focus on those matters. With all that combined as a knew knowledge amongst the staff we hope that the school can meet different needs of students in danger of dropout.Project goals: Improvement of intercultural skills, new teaching methods and ICT skills of teachers Number and profile of participants; The 20 participating teachers should: - be willing to attend training courses abroad. - have sufficient language skills. - be willing to spread the European idea to colleagues and students. - be willing to integrate the European idea in teaching. Description of measures: Participation in intercultural courses and courses that focus in new teaching methods and ICT skills.Description of the expected results, effects and potential long-term benefits: The courses experience will boost the motivation for intercultural learning and intercultural cooperation and the work at the school with European projects will be more effective. The training will enable teachers to inspire our teaching staff even more for European projects, and to use the project work as means to expand the students‘ intercultural, language and social skills. By expanding these skills our students will be better prepared in the future for the demands of the European and international labour market. When having that opportunity, our students hopefully feel motivated to participate and gain broader knowledge than that in books.
