Our school's P.E teachers need professional input in order to provide quality education to students who want to specialize within sports at a high level. This is something they need and it will benefit our school's students and the rest of our local community as it will be more interesting for new applicants. The Generalitat de Catalunya (the Catalan Government) created the High Performance Sports Centre in 1987 in preparation for the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games. This organisation has 25 years of experience and gives sportsmen and women opportunities to be competitive at an international level. When the teachers visit The Catalonia High Performance Centre (CAR) in Barcelona, they will take part in classes offered by the CAR, discussing teaching practices with the other teachers from CAR. They will also study and compare curricula, take notes from activity sessions and experience teaching methods. They also will be discussing culture similarities and differences. It is also important that the teachers can establish contact with the teachers from CAR, and then we can develop further cooperation.We want 12 teachers to participate in this project. They will share their new input with other teachers, and they will also be better teachers as they will learn more and be able to give better lessons on a high level. Every year our sports department has visitors from possible future students , and it will be great to show them new methods and practices. This will be another example of good dissemination.As the CAR centre is one of the best centres in Europe, this will be perfect for the P.E. teachers. They will learn and get new ideas for their teaching. They also will share this knowledge with the teachers from other departments as the P.E. teachers has the academic responsibility for the physical education at our institution. Mosjøen vidergående wants to have a reputation as the best upper secondary school in sport in our county, and that is one of the reasons we need P.E. teachers with great knowledge about teaching sports. We would like to send 12 teachers in during two years of the project, and we also want to send students to training camps there.
