'’Spread the word, read out loud!” was a youth exchange project within the Erasmus + program lead by Baltic Regional Fund about the awareness of foreign cultures and the acquisition of foreign languages among youngster through the discovery of international literature. The project was held in Riga, Latvia from Sunday 20 to Sunday 27 of March with participants from youth organizations of Spain, Italy, Germany, Estonia and Latvia. We counted with 26 youngsters from 18 to 30 years old and 5 leader form each partner organization. We held an APV visit from 18 to 21 February. The participants were mainly young people with fewer opportunities who enjoy reading and writing and who want to spread the importance of getting to know international literature to a better mutual understanding within the diverse cultures in Europe. The objectives of the projects were to find new methods to encourage reading activities among young people; to stimulate youngsters to learn new languages and cultures through discovering foreign literature; and to develop non-formal activities to invite people to read by holding a public reading activity. In order to do that, we developed 5 main activities: a Discover activity about the role of literature nowadays; a Discuss activity group of new methods to encourage reading activities amongst youngsters; a Develop and Create activity about national literature traditions and creation of short tales; and a Read Mob activity about public space reading. By promoting social and civic competence, cultural awareness, creativity, digital and the knowledge of foreign languages we ameliorated the chances of participants to find a job in the European labor market, which meet the needs of our target group unemployed youth. As outcome of the project, we created a blog with information about the project and a fan page in social media network Facebook, where participants share their experiences. Also, the partner organizations shared and disseminate information about the project through the Social Medias and their web pages. We also sent information about the project to Medias, other local NGO in Latvia, and other organization in our networking system, and we made a visual presentation of the outcome of the project as videos and photos. All publications contain a paragraph explaining that the project is finance from Erasmus+ and also will appear Erasmus + logo in every publication relating the project.
