Cyprus Youth Council as part of its activities aims at empowering young people to actively participate in the political process of Cyprus through the activity entitled "Sport has the Power to change the word", which focuses on the importance of sport in strengthening Youth. The idea for the implementation of the program came from the words of Civil Nelson Mandela, President of South Africa, who said that sport has the power to change the world. Through this activity Cyprus Youth Council wants to send the message that sport has the power to inspire and unite people in a way that few have succeeded. Apart from these, sport speaks to youth in a language they understand and has the ability to create hope where once there was only despair and is more powerful than the governments in breaking down racial barriers while laughing in the face of all forms of discrimination. Young people will have the opportunity to exchange views on strengthening the sport and how sport can promote social inclusion of all young people. At the end of the action, the opinions and ideas of the young participants will be sent to the stakeholders in order to be taken into consideration in the policy making.
