The project tries to improve the partnership between young people from the council of Rechnitz and the city of Alzey in order to help them to share experiences. Fifteen participants from Rechnitz as well as 15 participants from Alzey will join the project. The aim of this project is to explore the culture of the partner’s organisation and to create a positive image for the integration of other cultures. During the week, participants will be divided into groups trying to build a boat to cross a small lake later. Indeed, this task should help the participants to strengthen the process of group dynamics. The focus of the sporting activities is on the training of coordination skills, such as balance, reaction, rhythm and orientation. In the morning, Brain Gym exercises will be performed to improve mental performance, learning and concentration. Furthermore, games like Ultimate Frisbee (which is characterized by the principles of fair play) will be played. Country-specific evenings will be scheduled daily where the local culture, country, language and eating habits will be presented. On the other hand, the project aims to help young people to lay down prejudices about foreign cultures and open up to new ideas. The project should take place annually to maintain the partnership of the two communities and offer to young people the opportunity to learn more about their partner community.
