The new curricula for Icelandic primary and secondary schools reflect an emphasis on the use of ICT, overall search of knowledge, cultural awareness in foreign language learning as well as, processing and sharing of ideas and outputs. Garðaskóli is currently implementing tablet computers into teaching and learning in order to promote new methodology and practices in teaching and learning. Therefore it is important that teachers get an opportunity to adopt the skills needed for this project Main procedures: Autumn term 2013 -team of teachers started working on the project -monthly meetings of the tablet - team -30 computer tablets purchaed Spring term 2014 -the tablet -team practice try out the tablets with their students -3 teachers go on ICT courses in the UK and Spain -the 3 teachers disseminate what they learned to other teachers Spring term 2015 -students tackle various tasks to show their skills in the use of ICT -teachers evaluate their students´ key competences in accordance with the Icelandic curriculum -a final evaluation of the project
