Vilnius Technology Training and Rehabilitation Center (acronym in Lithuanian – VTMRC) is a place where youth with various disabilities and learning difficulties are learning in educational programs for people with special needs. This group is much more vulnarable than the rest of society because they don‘t have basic social skills, they face social, economic and other challenges, furthermore disabled people face the rejection from the community where they live. Because of that disabled people are characterized by lack of work experience and lower general and vocational education level, they are less attractive for employers and they struggle to find a job also they face discrimination in labour market. These factors are the main reason why disabled youth have low self-esteem and low self-confidence. Moreover, these factors also reduce their social involvement and alienate from active participation in public life. The aim of the project „Students‘ with special needs practice abroad is a step towards job“ is to seek better professional integration oportunities in the modern labor market improving students‘ with special needs practical, vocational and social skills in foreign companies. Another aim of the project is to encourage personal development of disabled youth, their motivation in active job search and to present successful employment examples of German and Estonian disabled people to participants of the project. In October of 2016 is planned internship abroad for four weeks lenght. Participants of the project are 16 students from VTMRC with hearing, learning and complex disabilities, medium intellegence, which seek to get speciality of construction finisher, cook or carpenter. They also will make evaluation of students skills which they acquired in working place by using assesment questionaires. When participants succesfully complete practice, they will get Europass Mobility documents. During practice participants will not only improve their professional skills, competencies and get acquainted with new technology but also they will learn to be self-sufficient. By interacting with peers from another country students will broaden cultural horizons, strengthen their foreign and international sign languages. When internship will end, specialists from VTMRC in open practical lessons will make evaluation of students skills which they acquired in practice. Speeches of participants, open lessons assessments results and the analysis of project presentation will help the community of VTMRC to evaluate the project. All information about the project will be reported in internet sites of VTMRC, Salo+Partner Berufliche Bildung GmbH and Salo Baltic International OU (www.vtmrc.lt; www.salo-ag.de; salo-baltic.de).
