At the Bárka Foundation (which is a hosting organization) they manufacture high quality handcraft products demonstrating the fact, that people with mentaly disabilities are capable of performing integrated and valuable work. The dedictaed and qualified team was looking for voulunteers to assistand their job, not to substitute their employees.As individual EVS application a Spanish voulunteer attended the project for 6 months and the German volunteers for 10 months. Their worktime in the Bárka Workshop (in Dunaharaszti) was between 8.30 and 15.30 on the weekdays, which means they worked 35 hours a week. According to the volunteers interests and personal skills, they were able to get involved in therapy work, individual develeopmental therapy, (with professional guidence) and product development as well.Through the workshop activities, volunteers had the opportunity to explore and express their creative ideas and to aquire new skills in a friendly and supportive team. Working in the community, the volunteers had an excellent possibility to get to know a new culture and language in a safe and kind environment.The volunteers had 2 free days on each months and were not working at the weekend and other bank holidays, if they attended any of the activities at the weekend, they got a day off for it, just as all of the employees.
