The vocational training programme of Technician in Assistance to People in Need of Care tries to give an answer to people, depending on their needs.From the professional family of Sociocultural and Community Servicies of Enrique Tierno Galvan Secondary School we want to get some profit of a preexistent contact with an entity, the GAD (Greenwich Association for Disabled People), to create a connexion to complete the training of our students in an assistance model scarcely known in Spain right now, the centered person model, as in the professional role of the Personal Assistant, core idea for the Independent Living Movement in an international basis, and that requires a great task of spreading and implementation in our country.This project sets out the execution of the on the job training period of a student in UK, to make it possible to improve his/er possibilities to get a job, so to give him/er a very different work approach from the one that s/he could get to know, nowadays, in our near surroundings.Futhermore than the student, the accompaniment of a teacher will make him/er get to know a new professional reality and make him/er able to tranfer this reality to the rest of our students, that are studying in our school. This will let us stand out from another school centres of our surroundings (where we are the only State school) and will give students and teachers an incentive.The expected outcomes will affect, direct or indirectly, the participant student and teacher as well as all the school community, as far as the implementation of the project will be thoroughly spread by all the media that we have at our hands, including a youth newspaper awarded in a State level.
