SPACE FOR DIALOGUE

A multillateral Youth Exchanges titled "Space for Dialogue" took place between 27/9-5/10 2013 in Agros, Cyprus and involved 44 young people from Cyprus, Ireland, Lithuania, Estonia, Romania, Bulgaria, Greece, Italy and Slovenia.The exchange aimed at providing young people with a framework for cultural diversity by focusing on the benefits of participating in outdoor activities. The programme was a combination of practical activities where young people worked in teams trying out different sports, complemented with a number of workshops centred on the debate around the advantages of intercultural dialogue. The daily program was design in such way in order to provide participants with social tools and skills by that helping them to raise the awareness for their cultural diverse surroundings, to find out and understand the differencess as well as to be proud to except their cultural and personal identity that will lead to achieving personal, social and professional develompment.The project also allowed for each country group of participants tomake a presentation on their countries culture and history. The emphasis of the programme was to build self esteem, acceptance of other people, open their minds, learn about other cultures and value different countries. With this projects we mix different cultures and cross borders to other traditions, languages and mentalities by involving actively with groups from other countries. Also during the project we organized intercultural nights where all the partner groups present their country, their culture, traditional foods, drinks, music and dances.
