FINISHED
The project involves 8 Partners from Sweden (2), Lithuania (2), Germany (2), Poland (1) and Denmark (1). The partnership is composed of academic and VET (vocational education and training) institutions and business support /triple-helix organisations. The Partners are supported by 14 Associated Organisations (regional authorities, business supporting organisations, vocational education centres). The project is led by NetPort.Karlshamn AB from Sweden. The overall idea of the project is to support internationalisation and the cross-border cooperation between vocational education and training (VET) providers, the business sector and VET students in order to develop the South Baltic labour force with skilled young people, competent in international business culture and to increase their mobility within South Baltic. The project includes following sets of activities: - Gathering of electronic applications and project ideas from students and matchmaking with companies or other business partners. To gather a pool of students and businesses, the salespeople will be employed in partner organisations with the task to directly inform these target groups about the education/internships programme planned in the project. - Organising four educational testing models for 72 students from all South Baltic countries. Each of these models consists of a three-week cross-border internship, preceded with one week introduction into cultural/business background of the hosting country and general project management/entrepreneurship topics. - Organising seminars for different stakeholders in VET (education providers, teachers, branch organisations, businesses, regional authorities) closely following the educational models. The purpose is to discuss different aspects of VET process in context of the educational models, for example validation of VET certificates, best practices in cross-border VET cooperation or development of curricula supporting internationalisation. - Workshops/seminars with sister projects from other parts of Baltic Sea Region. In result of these actions SBTP will create a Story Book including the final educational model and the recommendations for politicians and decision makers, and will disseminate it during Open Days in Brussels and on a final dissemination event in Denmark. The main target groups are students in post-secondary vocational education, VET providers and companies in South Baltic. Achievements: 1) The project organization has been established with controller, project manager, project communicator and student promoter in each country. The team has formed tools and templates to facilitate the work procedures in recruiting student and companies.2) A communication group has been formed to establish the communication profile including website, Facebook group, different booklets, digital newsletter and press releases. 3) Two meetings with the sister projects Nordpraktik and Baltic Training Programme has been held to share experiences and for networking activities.4) The first seminar was held in Stockholm on 11-12 December 2012 and the second on 21 January 2014, together with the sister projects on the topic Maximizing effects of VET mobilities on the way to improved common market. All together 38 participants. 5) Students and companies have been informed in each country about the possibilities to participate in SBTP with personal visits from the project team and with participation in local and regional fairs. This fieldwork has been time consuming but on the other hand it has also given the project a large network with contacts for the upcoming Testing Models and seminars. As an added value, information about cross border mobility in the South Baltic Region has been spread through meetings and social media. As the project work towards internationalization of VET education to support a training abroad combined with entrepreneurship, the project team has identified this topic to be very important and prioritized for both students and companies in the region.6) Participation in cross border team meetings with study visits has identified opportunities and different areas for future collaboration. This input will help the team to collect information and recommendations to support internationalization for regional VET providers and companies and improve cross border mobility in the South Baltic Region.7) Marketing material has been produced and distributed.8) Marketing activities has been performed to recruit students and companies in each country.9) Intensively matchmaking activities has been taken place in order to satisfy both students and companies. 10) Four Testing Models has been performed with in total 70 students. This has been a great opportunity to learn more about our regional demands and find out about our different backgrounds which is necessary in order to understand and create a future collaboration.11) Four stakeholder seminars has been taken place with total 166 participants representing different target groups such as regional and national institutions, politicians, companies, VET-schools, teachers and students. This has brought the project closer to achieve a good result in the future activities to create networks and cross border collaboration in SBTP.12) Management meetings have been held together with informal Skype meetings. As a result the project management team has established a close collaboration and produced policy documents valuable for an efficient work. 13) A first version of a Collaboration Agreement was signed by companies and schools.
