"Sounds of Peace" Musical exchange for Peace
Start date: Mar 1, 2013,
General aim of “Sounds of Peace” Musical exchange is to bring together 42 young musicians from 6 countries (Northern Ireland (UK), Poland, Kosovo, Turkey, Armenia and Georgia) to play music together and to promote peace. They will talk about peace they will play about peace and they will share their understanding of peace through their music. Objectives of the exchange are:- To share the music of their country and their understanding of peace with each other- To play music together and to think of interesting compositions that will help the public to support the idea of peace- To perform in front of their peers from other countries in general and from Armenia in particular- To promote Youth in Action programme of EC as a great program supporting young people to share the values they believe in. During the nine days the participants will perform for each other and will try to create new bands and will prepare a solo performance with a completely new band from another country. The exchange will end with an open air concert in the capital Yerevan. We are also planning to hold an advanced planning meeting to go over all the details of the concerts, to check the venues, to agree on PR strategies to assure the success of the festival. We believe that peace has to be promoted, it should be outspoken and "outsang" and "outplayed". We hope that "Sounds of Peace" will inhabit in everybody's souls and there will be no alternative to peace. The exchange is planned to take place from 7-16 May, 2013 in Aghveran, Armenia and it will be hosted by Civic Forum NGO from Armenia. *The program of the APV will be sent separately.
