The SOLID-AIR Venezuela: Youth on Board project takes place inside the Barrio Los Curos at Mérida in Venezuela from July to August 2011, for an amount of five weeks of activities.Is an EVS group project involving fifteen young people that the organization CISV (Italy) sent to the organization Catedra de la paz y los Derechos Humanos "Osear A. Romero" (Venezuela).The subject of the project is the global citizenship and how the young people can participate for combating poverty.The themes for activities are development cooperation and protection and rights of children and young people.The specific aim of the activities is offer to 200 children that live in the community Los Curos, a possibility of education and socialization (the Plan Vacacional) like an alternative to the street and like a type of prevention to child violence and abuse and to fight the use of young people in illegal activities.During the plan vacacional, the Italian volunteers join a group of young Venezuelan (educadores juveniles) to work with the children that live in the barrio to make different type of activities with a range of techniques of animation.
