SOCIAL INNOVATION EFFECT try to build new way to answer to the emerging social needs. We want to involve 3 volunteers in a social inclusion project mainly addressed to children, families and homeless people. The project is diveded into two sub-projects, the both are combined by the social innovation as primary goal to pursue the social inclusion and by the creativty and cooperation as work methodologies.
The volunteers will be engaged in innovative social services and they will be thinked as added value helping our services to improove creative and innovative nature.
1. SOCIAL INNOVATION – KIDS & GAME (Receiving organization: Sumo social cooperative)
We aim to involve the young volunteers in our activities with children and their families. The selected volunteers will be engaged in games and laboratories with children and will have the possibility to be included in a multi-functional space, Lab Altobello, which is mainly a game room but also a place that develops different kinds of projects (coworking+baby, different training courses, parties, other non formal activities). In the afternoon from Monday to Friday + saturday morning the volunteers will support the educators staff in kitchen, sensory, english, drawing, picture, dancing laboratories and in participatory games with the children. In the morning from Monday to Friday they will be involved in back office and promotional activities.
During summer period (from june to september ) there will be summer camps untill 4.00 p.m.
2. SOCIAL INNOVATION – HOMELESS & INCLUSION (Receiving organization: Fondazione di partecipazione Casa dell’ospitalità)
The young volunteer will be involved in daily activities of Casa dell’Ospitalità (hosting house for homeless people) supporting the social workers staff in: secretaryship; first reception; organization of the canteen; management and monitoring of the cleaning activities of the common areas and guest rooms; assistance in the registration of guests and other health and administrative task; participation in the local awareness activities and linguistic mediation with guests; management of the social networks; support in the organization of the shifts of all the activities in which the guests are engaged (meals, housekeeping, outdoor activities), active participation in the artisitic laboratory and recreational activities.
The project will start on 20/06/2014 and will end on 18/06/2014 and will be located in Mestre, Venice mainland, where the volunteers will live sharing an apartment. The volunteers will work 30 hours per week and they may work also during the week end. They will have 2 days-off per week and not necessarily Saturday and Sunday. There will be a tutor for a working support and a mentor for the personal support. Every month they will have their food money and pocket money, plus local transport ticket.
