Social inclusion via Intercultural Learning at AFS Hungary

The project involves one volunteer who – with the support of our staff and volunteers - develops and organizes various information events, sessions, presentations and workshops all across Hungary for young people from 14-30 about intercultural/global learning, social inclusion and understanding, various AFS and Erasmus+ programs, including EVS. The volunteer will have the opportunity to develop initiatives encouraged by the staff to use this opportunity in order to gain self-confidence and to develop tools for setting up own initiatives concerning intercultural learning as well as issues related to global/ issues. According to the volunteer’s interest and ability we invite him/her to contribute with his/her own creativity and cultural traditions. The volunteer will have the possibility to take part in the preparation, implementation and the dissemination of such activities.

Aim of the activities:
- to provide non-formal education experience for Hungarian high school students and adults
- to make this learning experience available for people with less opportunities
- to encourage inclusion and celebrate diversity
Implemented activities:
- planning and organizing common activities
- participation in different events (orientation camps, civic day events, Intercultural Dialoge Day)
- attend and take part in information events
- hold Intercultural Learning presentation at schools
- development of new projects regarding the country of the volunteer
- planning and organizing of events, preparing workshops together with local AFS volunteers
- visits of the local chapters, local schools
- visit and support of camps, information days and fairs
