PROJECT
FINISHED
The project "SOCIAL INCLUSION-ing" was originally intended as composed by three main activities:
- 7-day Training Course, planned from 11th to 18th May 2015 in Sicily, Italy;
- 9-day Mobility for Youth, planned from 20th to 29th July 2015 in Sicily, Italy;
- Mobility for 3 youth workers, to be implemented between February and June in Sicily.
Common thread of the project was to allow participating organisations to strengthen their operational skills and knowledge in the field of non-formal education and social intervention targeted at young people at high risk of marginalisation.
Among the proposed activities, only the training course was approved for funding.
TC SOCIAL INCLUSION-ing was implemented in order to promote greater competence in creating and managing international projects aimed at fostering social inclusion. The activity lasted 7 days, and was carried out in Alcamo (Italy) from 25th of May to 1st of June 2015.
The main focus of the training course was to promote new knowledge and to develop specific skills aimed at improving the quality of social inclusion projects, thereby making them more effective by activating more resources and valuing all the involved social actors.
The framework within which the project was implemented had been the common idea, shared by all organisations involved, of carrying out projects that ensure an effective protection of the right to equality.
Hence, during the 7-day training the group of participants worked intensively on elaborating strategies which could make more accessible social inclusion projects involving young people with fewer opportunities and special needs.
This framework allowed youth workers, belonging to different international associations, to cooperate together in order to gain knowledge and skills in the work with different groups of young people at high risk of exclusion, such as young offenders or deaf young people, within international projects.
