SOCCER - Social and Citizenship Competence Recogni..
SOCCER - Social and Citizenship Competence Recognition
Start date: Oct 1, 2005,
Recognising the challenges of achieving democratic education in working with learners from socially disadvantaged groups, the SOCCER project aimed at increased democracy, alongside social and citizenship competencies, through action research and through the identification and promotion of examples of good practice. In addition to gathering good practice examples, activities included the production of a range of learner-led publications on topics such as civic attitudes, civic education and accreditation, the establishment of a mobile support team to provide on-the-spot training to educators and research into innovative ways of evidencing educational achievement (e.g. e-portfolios). Key outputs included a flexible database of good practice and a series of learner-led publications.
