SLEST – European Linguistic Standard for the Tourism Sector

The SLEST project aims to create an innovative European standard relating to language knowledge. Project partners will develop a common linguistic examination framework, for recognition across all participating countries; will develop and introduce a series of preparatory training modules leading to the above-mentioned examination and will introduce a series of open and distance learning (ODL) modules. Project results will be made available in printed and electronic (CD-Rom and web-based) formats. Project beneficiaries include employees in the tourism sector, especially those having direct contact with clients; management and marketing professionals within the tourism sector, students and recent graduates in tourism sciences. Dissemination will rely upon the involvement of relevant stakeholders in all project phases and will involve the hosting of a series of seminars & project workshops and the release of information on project achievements via partner websites.
