PROJECT
FINISHED
One of EPATV main concerns, regarding its students and staff training, is to prepare them the best possible way in order to achieve success in the labor market and an active role in the society, aiming an positive impact at local, regional, national and international levels.
The socio-economic situation in Europe, and particularly in Portugal, changed market conditions, increasing the supply on the one hand, but on the other, making it more complex and demanding. Those who suffer from interiority (as Vila Verde, Minho, case where the school is located),have added difficulties and lack of opportunities and choices so is the school's role to reduce this disadvantage.
This is the reason why this mobility project is of major importance to our students and staff, so they can have the same experiences and acculturation, in order to face this european market with success guarantee, enforcing the access to employability and to improve their personal performance through skills' acquiring (knowledge, attitudes, including linguistic and cultural diversity) that this project can provide.
This project meets the strategic objectives of EPATV towards its internationalization as a school of reference in vocational education, as the market recognizes its value in the training of high quality professional resources. These transnational experiments already represent a selection factor in the school choice by parents and, regarding graduates seeking employment graduated in EPATV, this is a preference factor in selection by companies. The same applies to the set of training and educative agents that EPATV has in its staff.
The project involves, practically, three types of target audience, being the majority constituted by level IV vocational training courses' students (about 56 participants, in an universe of 820 students), a recent graduated group (graduated less than a year ago) of 12 participants, and an EPATV staff group including teachers, specialists and other collaborators (17), in a total of 85 participants for a two years mobility, beginning on July the 1st, 2014 and ending at June 30th, 2016
The process is organized according with the European charter for mobility, including a clear and transparent plan in all its phases (information and guidance, planning and customization, general, linguistic and cultural preparation, logistic support, mentoring, recognition, evaluation and commitment/responsibility) considering measures for unexpected events, well defined objectives and outcomes, aiming the ECVET processes' implementation.
The selection is made through candidacy based in Pedagogical Board aproved criteria, disclosed and that lead to gender and opportunities equality principles compliance, what is also a tool to encourage entrepreneurs, as well as, to diminish regional school dropout, that has grown recently.
Therefore, EPATV aims to create conditions to provide a work based training, professional and transversal skills development with foreign partners of recognized technical competence in the selected areas and experienced in lifelong learning, having as main objectives and consequent benefits to:
- develop a transversal and multidisciplinary skills group, aiming to improve personal development and employability in the european market for all participants;
- improve external linguistic skills and NIT's use of all participants;
-promote EPATV attractiveness as an international level vocational education and training institution, enforcing the cooperation and international projects' participation;
- develop a group of competences and attitudes in the local and educative community that allow to face the surrounding reality as a group of changing opportunities and to have the desire and the energy to develop them with success and resilience;
- diminish school insuccess and, potentially, school dropout;
- promote partnerships between schools and the civil community in the european global space, conferring higher quality and relevance to citizenship educational activities, civic participation and wealth creation;
- increase self-empowerment, self-esteem and intercultural consciousness reinforcement;
- promote creativity, sense of initiative, entrepreneurial spirit;
- improve all its staff skills, through innovative practices, in formal education, as well as in non-formal education (with benefits to the community and volunteering groups);
- be an active partner in learning, education and training policies change proposals;
At the end it is expected that beneficiaries show the mentioned objectives acquisition through reports, pledges, testimonies, practical actions and placing them at their success, school and community disposal.
