Rapid developments concerning food safety, food poisoning outbreaks occurring at times, the loss of lives due to improper handling of food and state awareness and consumers alike has highlighted the need for Food Safety Management Systems (FSMS) especially in recent decades worldwide. The Owners Association of Sanitary Interest of Skopelos, following the dictates of the times, designed the present mobility proposal in an effort to assist them in further developing the business skills of managers and human resources managers among the ranks of its members. The purpose was to contact participants with representatives of organizations and enterprises of the respective and related sectors in the host country and meet with innovative and breakthrough applications on good hygiene practices, staff training and food safety management systems. Thus, it is estimated that participants will be able to compare their own knowledge and experiences to enhance personal and professional profiles and transfer their newly acquired skills in human dynamic of bodies they represent. The needs of the participants were summarized in the following: 1. Lack of adequate training regarding compliance with the rules of good hygiene practices, management systems, food safety , proper record keeping and 2. Sense of uncertainty and difficulty in solving daily problems and crises due to the application of established techniques regarded panacea because of the long and widespread use. 3. Ignorance or insufficient information as to the legislative and implementation framework governing hygiene and food safety with regard to companies’ health concern in the European Union. 4. Stagnation and non- creative thinking with a direct impact on the viability of the business, ensuring the quality of service and customer satisfaction. This project aims at the following: 1. Familiarizing trainees with new modalities regarding good hygiene practices and food safety, and record keeping etc. 1. Enhancing awareness of the trainees on the necessity of the implementation of food safety management systems to benefit their business, and Public Health. 2. Analysis, comparison and exchange of experience with regard to the legislative framework and arrangements between Greece and the host country. 3. Strengthening the capacity of participants in setting goals and communicating new ideas and implement new standards within the workplace. The project is expected to have very positive effects such as: 1. Staffing sanitary firms with appropriately trained staff with regard to good practice and food safety. 2. Improving efficiency in the prevention of in-house problems and crises using new methods, ideas and tools. 3. Acceleration and / or simplify production line with adoption of innovative applications on the hygiene and food safety. 4. Restrict and control the adverse effects of improper food handling regarding Public Health. 5. Strengthening the local economy and retain the population in the region by increasing the competitiveness of enterprises. The total project duration is 15 days and will take place in Spain with the participation of 20 recipients - in Madrid and will be held from 01/11/2014 up to 15/11/2014. Prospective beneficiaries in mobility are employers and manpower managers who want to transfer their knowledge to their employees. The host institution is ERASMIA with experience in adult training.
