Project Shake up Start ups aims at young people between 18-30 years old and youth workers from Croatia, Latvia and Poland. This project aims at promoting entrepreneurship education and social entrepreneurship among young people and internationalising youth work, opening it up to cross-sectoral cooperation, professionalising youth workers, building their competences, of 4 project partners, by developing new and innovative approaches, practices and supporting the dissemination of best practices. Promoting entrepreneurship education and social entrepreneurship is crucial on today’s labour market. According to the statistics from 2014 in 28 European Union countries unemployment affects 5 million young people under 25 years old and 7,5 million of young people are considered as NEETs (not employed, not in education and not in training). Youth unemployment among young people up to 25 years old, amounts to 27,3% in Poland, 49,7% in Croatia and 23,2% in Latvia. The reasons of such a high unemployment are complex and are largely related directly to the circumstances of the education system and cultural environment in which young people grow up in.Additional aims of the project are: developing basic and transversal skills (entrepreneurship, digital skills and language competences) of 60 young people from Croatia, Latvia and Poland, by participation in testing and implementation of the method of non-formal entrepreneurship academy; internationalising and professional development of 12 youth workers; enhancing digital integration in youth work and promoting of access to open educational resources (OER) in the youth field for 150 participants from dissemination of intellectual outputs events. In the frames of the project we will implement: a study visit in Poland, 3 Shake up Start ups events to disseminate the projects results and intellectual output, training course on Shake up Start ups non-formal entrepreneurship academy for youth-workers from the project partners in Latvia. The aim of the training is to expand knowledge about the method for those who will use the method in the project, during testing in each country and international implementation. Furthermore the implementation of the project, as blended mobility, will allow groups of young people to put entrepreneurial ideas for start ups into practice with a view to tackling challenges and problems identified within their communities. The intellectual outputs is a method of non-formal entrepreneurship of activities, developed by experts and youth workers, which will be described in an open educational resource (OER).The developed method involves also scenarios, case-studies, methods of conducting tests, approaches in youth work, assessment and certification methods, solving problems, gamification - use of game thinking and game mechanics in non-game contexts to engage users in.The method of non-formal entrepreneurship academy will be based on a non-formal education process (training and mentoring from professionals, sharing inspirations, new ideas, boosting power, getting practical knowledge, networking, pitching, internationalising etc.) connected with entrepreneurship areas (promoting entrepreneurship education and social entrepreneurship among young people and internationalising youth work, opening it up to cross-sectoral cooperation, professionalising youth workers, building their competences). The non-formal entrepreneurship academy will be possible to implement as the whole method or in parts, as the regular activity/non-formal learning offer of other organizations, so after the end of the EU funding in the frames of this project, allowing the result to be maintained. The project will have a relevant positive impact on the project participants, project partner organizations and other participating organisations, target groups and other stakeholders, coming out from not only the project activities, but also from the project intellectual output (the method of non-formal entrepreneurship academy). As the project will be carried out transnationally, the impact will be local, regional, national and also European. Thanks to the implementation of the project it will be possible to develop organization skills regarding international cooperation, group work skills and also develop a method of non-formal education (ICT methodologies, learner-centred pedagogical approaches), using ICT to youth work and non-formal learning.
