The current Project has been developed in Azuqueca de Henares, placed in the region of Guadalajara. This town stands out because of its good communication to get to Madrid, for it only takes 30 minutes by car and 50 minutes by train stopping at Atocha’s station. Moreover, Azuqueca is only half an hour from Madrid Barajas International Airport. The entity in charge of the greeting is the Town Hall of Azuqueca de Henares through the Youth Council, which organizes and manages the services and activities aimed to youth population. Some of the main objectives are offering an alternative leisure, invigorating the places destined to the use of the youth, promoting their participation, offering them information that might be interesting, fostering educational actions and favoring the approach between young Azuqueca’s population and European reality. The person selected to accomplish the EVS in our entity has been selected among 50 youngsters because of her motivation and interest. This person has also been prioritized for having fewer economic opportunities. This EVS project started the 1st of February and ended the 31st of August 2015. Throughout this period, the selected voluntary has been participated on these areas: • Supporting youth information spreading in the center as well as in Secondary Schools of Azuqueca. • Helping Eurodesk’s work on searching information about scholarships, jobs in Europe, Interchanges, Voluntary projects, Languages, Calls and Tenders, etc. • Spreading and invigorating the social network (Twitter, Facebook and Tuenti). • Fostering European Citizenship and their programs for the youth (Youth in Action, Interchange Programs, etc) through her participation on educational courses. • Developing and participating on workshops and leisure activities organized by the Council, Coordination between welcoming and sending organizations has been carried out by telephone, e-mails and skype. Regarding the benefits of the project, first gives the volunteer a chance to grow personally and professionally very important, and learn about other cultures, languages and people. In our town the benefits of hosting European volunteers are numerous. Enables local youth into contact with another culture, another language, which arouses interest in learning about other countries. This leads to increased interest in learning how to access European programs that offer them this opportunity. Therefore, we believe that long term, increase the mobility of the azudense youth, and this will lead to further enrichment of the town through the projects developed here, and through young people who have the experience and return to town .
