Senza Confine - Sozial- und Gesundheitsbettreuung in Italien
Start date: Jun 1, 2014, End date: May 31, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

The expected age structure of the population development shows that there will be a need of people working as care workers in the following years. Our school educates young people who want to work in a social or health sector. During their school career they have to do internships in social or health care institutions. The Erasmus+ project makes it possible for our students to do the internships also in another European country. Currently we have partners in Italy in the region of Friaul and in Slovenia. With our project we want to encourage mobility of persons working in the social and health sector, as - according to our experience - it is necessary to improve regional exchange and cooperation. Number and profile of students taking part in the project: Seven students will take part. The participants have basic knowledge of care work and practical experience in child care and household duties. The students work for four weeks in a child care institution and acquire knowledge for their further education as well as language skills. Results We expect our students to get a better knowlede of the social and health care system of the country where they do the internship and a higher flexibility. Advantages for our school The possibility to do an internship in another European country makes our type of school more attractive. The chances on the job market are getting better. The language skills and personal competences improve and students are getting interested in the idea of life-long learning. International aspect Our school - Fachschule für Sozialberufe, St. Andrä - is getting a good international reputation. There have already been requests for a student exchange with Italy.
