This project will create and build a training programme to disseminate the rapidly growing innovation, new principles and use of materials in Modern Sensor development to a wide range of potential new users. The programme will consist of a multi-lingual web-based information source on sensors. This will be built into educational modules, customised for specific target groups and containing up-to-date, flexible laboratory exercises (both classical and virtual) and experiments. The main target groups are trainers of SME employees and teachers in initial vocational training institutions and universities. The basic course, available on the Internet, would be used for building a variety of modules for use during in-company training of employees, vocational training institutions and distance learning. Final versions of the module will be announced on the web sites of partners and co-operating institutions, industrial journals and scientific conferences such as EURO sensors. The project activities will be published in educational journals and conferences of vocational educators. Basic information will be disseminated in schools, labour training institutions and SMEs, and networks of innovation centres, conferences and discussion groups.
