NGO Open Sense is involving the implementation of a Training Course “SELF made, SELF confident, SELF sufficient” based on Non Formal Education tools targeted at 24 youth workers, leaders and individuals working with young unemployed people/job seekers from rural areas or with limited opportunities. Participating countries-Latvia, Slovakia, Estonia, Poland, Sweden, Croatia and United Kingdom. The aim of the TC is to contribute and promote employability of young people throughout Europe.The project training course will take place 02.12.2016-10.02.2016 in Nīca, Latvia.Target groups of the training course are youth workers, youth leaders, teachers, youth educators, social workers and people who are working with unemployed people/job seekers on a voluntary or a professional basis.Our goal is to give youth workers methods that will help to promote and raise self-awareness, self-respect and self-esteem in the minds of youngsters. As well as it will increase practical youth and youth worker skills to present themselves more effectively, identify their best skills and acknowledge their unique qualities. In this project we will work mostly on two levels- verbal and visual. Furthermore, they will improve their communication skills in English as well as the capacity to cooperate at the European level.Any person has a need to present themselves. Despite of a profession, chosen self branding is one of the key actions during the first steps to success. Putting up a case, pitching for a business, addressing staff meetings, chairing committees are all activities that require good presentation.According to the most recent statistical accounts, about 23% of young people in Europe face the unemployability due to economic crisis. The gap between lowest and highest rate of unemployment in the Member State countries is nearly 50% points (youth unemployment in Germany about 8% and Spain about 54%).According to development strategies of partner organizations, there is a need for informed and prepared youth workers to prevent this phenomenon.Latvia as well as other European countries is facing the problem of unemployment. According to the Central Department of Statistics in Latvia during 2014 the unemployment rate among youngsters aged 15-19 years old was 33.3% and among those aged 20-24 it was 18.4%. This is the consequence considering youngster career, educational and private choices that we would like to address in this Project and that corresponds to Erasmus+ programs goals.Objectives:-Take active part in Europe 2020 strategy by promoting social inclusion.-To encourage exchange of good practices related to meaningful youth projects.-Encouraging international cooperation between organizations specializing in youth leader education.-To propose new tools, approaches and to identify ways to develop further youth and youth leader education in Europe.-To reduce school drop outs and raise the level of youth employability.-Increase capacity and build up competences of youth workers and educators by providing methods for working with youth in relation to self-awareness, self-respect and self-esteem, self-branding, future ambitions and foresight etc.The structure of the Training Course will be as follows:-Creating a safe environment for participants in order to ensure the comfort and profitability of the learning experience.-Professional development: tools to get a job and self-branding skills ( CV Europass, interview, volunteer work and internships, letter of intention), importance of using Youth Pass and other social platforms for online CV building (LinkedIn, etc.)-Personal development: self-confidence, self-awareness, skills , creativity, team work, communication( learning a foreign language, body language etc.).-Presenting skills: presentation creations (), oratory skills (giving information, answering questions, articulating and persuading ), improvizations skills (theater, etc.), body language(aligning your body language with your message etc.).-Exchange and transfer of knowledge: Video presentations from relevant actions (EURES/ EACEA’s/ Youtube etc.), conversation with local youth.Evaluation: testimonials, diaries, daily feedbacks, participants reflections, radio interview, press article creation,Cultural contact: trip to discover Latvian beauties, cultural aspects, traditional meal, intercultural evening, city visit, contacts with local people.
