self-evaluation in VET Schools

The aim of the project were to develop the capacity of French vocational education establishments in the field of self-assessment taking into account the preexisting national education framework related to vocational education and training - especially the “lycée des métiers” label- as well as the schools target oriented contracts and development. The project were in compliance with the European framework for quality assurance in education and vocational training such settled in 2009 by a Recommendation passed by the European Parliament and the European Council. It was more precisely about propping up the French establishments on the experience of three European partners who have already implemented quality assurance processes and develop a French methodological tool for self-assessment that will be applied in the first place in French “lycées des métiers” establishments.A steering committee and groups of national experts which included official representatives of the ministry of education –inspectorates and The National College for Education Management ESEN- were in charge of the project. The project also relied on a scientific committee which gathers experts from three European countries : Austria : ARQA-VET Austrian reference point for Quality Assurance in VET ; Hungary : Corvinus University of Budapest, Institute of Behaviour Science and Communication Theory, Observatory for Educational Development ; Rumania : CNDIPT Centrul National de Dezvomtare A Invatamantului Profesionnal Si Tehnic.
