PROJECT
FINISHED
Our project clearly like the title "SD Leadership" will facilitate a structure dialogue among youth and the local authorities in order to promote their views ,so they r heard, improve opportunities for EMPLOYMENT , better wages ,creating opportunities for young people to gain skills through job shadowing and develop leadership skills. The project will empower young people to realize the value they have in making changes in the decision making process by acting out and making themselves noticed and heard. The project through structure dialogue will give young people true leadership skills and inform them of their rights as an European citizen and highlight their true European identity (working on leadership and employability). The project will give them new methodologies to implement and bring changes in society.During the preparation stage the participants will be selected and they will set the aims and objectives as a team keeping the bigger picture of the project in view. From day one they will work on their leadership skills and use their talents and skills to make smaller working teams and distribute roles and tasks. The project with the full team of 30 participants from UK and Greece will lead the activities with input from trainers and other professional speakers who will give them tips on public speaking, using media in their favor, negotiating skills and many other leadership skills to help them have a create a dialogue with policy makers and local authorities in a well equipped manner that would show results..There will be themes running throughout the project in its facilitation/implementation stage, as the trainers will create activities to clarify what democracy, civil society, structure dialogue, human rights movements is all about and how the youth can play active roles to negotiate with policy leaders , have their say before policies are implemented .It is them living in the society that get hit hard with the impact and consequences of the policies the politician approve. Issues around youth employment, environmental issues, gender challenges, minority rights, rascism and many more will be discussed with the participants to broaden their understanding of issues which effect young people locally, nationally also globally or at a European level. The idea is to prepare the young people for a more active life. We feel it is crucial to highlight issues especially in the climate in which we live, some people doubt their roots and others manifest their power and even have them as their party policies. These issues confuse young people even more and they find it difficult to make their own informed choices. We feel it is important to equip young people with tools that heps them to influence others, understand their own self, motivate others to think logic and most important showing ways of dealing with disputes and conflicts at different levels not by using force or power of weapons but actually by communicating , having a dialogue, thinking of solutions together. The themes of ACTIVE PARTICIPATION AND EUROPEAN CITIZENSHIP will also run through the projects. The leadership skills will also enhance young peoples capabilities in promoting democracy, peace in community conflicts not just on a local level but also at national and international levels. UK will have their general elections in May election and Greece recently elected their new government who may start implementing new policies. The current crises of youth unemployment and not winning the right of guarantee does not help the social, economical climate of Greece. More and more young people are getting frustrated and the British youth also don't believe that their views are considered when making policies. The youth are disharted and are un willing to take part in casting their votes in May. We believe by introducing leadership and structure dialogue we can equip young people to look at issues fom different angles and come to global situations that will help in the long run and open employment opportunities too.WORKING METHODSThe working methods are always important. We shall not only use the traditional non formal methods as group work, discussions, energizers, visual arts, team building, inter cultural learning, open space and presentation but also include more self direct learning. There will be a lot of focus on public speaking for which we will introduce various mediums and scenarios to make young people see the effectiveness of their actions. The project will familiarize the participants with concepts and approaches of structure dialogue which would help them look at possible solutions for their issues. Equip the participants with leadership skills to take democratic actions.Empower the youth to act wisely when using media as a tool to get their views across to the stakeholders and policy makers.make them competent to hold a structure dialogue with people in authority and the policy makers and create initiatives of change.
