Schule unterwegs nach Eur0pa
Start date: Feb 1, 2016, End date: Dec 31, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

LEBK aims to become more international in its scope and to enable students to acquire a wide variety of communication skills necessary to live and work in Europe. This is why we are interested in developing long-term strategies that will promote the mobility of teachers and students within Europe, thereby improving their intercultural skills and furthering the European idea at our college in a sustainable way as well. During the course of the project, it will be essential to support the participating teachers and to assist them in both enhancing their current skills as well as acquiring new ones. This will, in turn, contribute to LEBK’s future European activities and projects and ultimately lead to the participation of an increasing number of teachers of all subjects from all departments within the college. The 13 teachers participating in the project will be from different departments within the school and will have different responsibilities; they will be teachers, office holders and school administration officials. Four of them will do job-shadowing at the Czech partner school. Eight other teachers will participate in a training course abroad or conduct practical training (observing and teaching) at LEBK’s partner schools. The results of all these activities will be made available to all teachers at our college who are interested, and they will hopefully serve as examples to be followed by other educational institutions.During their participation in workshops and seminars as well as during their job-shadowing or practical training at partner schools, all teachers will be supported in their efforts to enhance their international communication skills. Furthermore, they will expand the college’s network of international contacts, help the college to become more international in scope through their experience and support the students in all departments by sharing their knowledge and experience with them. New teachers will be more made aware of the importance of international work at vocational schools, and international projects within the different departments will receive greater recognition.
