PROJECT
FINISHED
Schools as a part of their respective capital's past, present and future" is the title of our project. So far our staff has worked on similar projects (some of them with local institutions) in the past, so we have substantial experience in project management. Our objectives are to create a website and a DVD by gathering information about the historical and geopolitical development of the three schools and their respective capitals over the years, and provide ideas for future perspectives. In addition, we aim to develop our students' speaking and interpersonal skills by promoting team work and exchange of ideas and good practices. The project will aim to address the necessities of public authorities, other language schools and other interested parties.he total number of participants in the project is 93. Out of the 93 we have 90 students, 8 teachers, 1 project manager, 3 administrators and 1 technician. All in all we will have 4 meetings. One preliminary - to discuss logistics, coordination and means of communication and 3 meetings - in the 3 capitals, with the final conference taking place in Sofia. During these activities, we will amass ideas, exchange information, good practices and attempt to promote tolerance and cooperation. They will be held roughly once every 6 months. We will update each other on the achieved progress of each participant. All other communication will be done via phone or over the internet. Each of the schools will be responsible for the research work on their own capital and their school's history in the context of their respective city. The three schools will make the necessary organization work locally and the dissemination of the final outputs of the project in their municipalities. FELS, Sofia will administrate and coordinate the financial resources, meeting arrangements and facilitate communication between the partners, as well as the dissemination of the results over the different media. They will handle the publicity and presentation to the authorities and around the world. Our students will make Power-Point Presentations, leaflets, and DVDs. There will be open discussions. Students will ask people to popularize their initiative. They will take interviews. The local authorities of each country will be informed of the research work on the respective capitals. The teachers will aid the students in every aforementioned activity and train them.Budget control will be overseen by authorized and competent people - accountants, principals, the coordinator of the project. All expenses have to be justified and validated by the required financial documents (such as invoices), scanned and archived for monitoring activities according to the country's financial law.Time management is realized by controlling the time-schedule of the activities (for further informations see Gantt chart). Each school has an individual time-table for its activities on the local level. The coordinator, FELS-Sofia, is responsible for syncing the schedules. Some of the impacts and benefits we envisage include students learning how to create and finalize documents, develop their interpersonal skills, and improve their language proficiency. Furthermore, they will familiarize themselves with the practices, policies and structure of various institutions. In addition, they will learn to how to think analytically and develop their interviewing skills. Last, but not least, they will become more tolerant and understanding of others. Teachers, parents, local authorities as well as different organizations will greatly benefit from our project. Finally, we will organize 3 multiplier events (one in every country). Each of the schools will be responsible for their respective conduction. The idea of these events is to share our product with a wider audience. It is our hope that it will catch on.
