Our project 'School language events and additional activities as examples of good practice in improving effectiveness of teaching and learning foreign languages' helped to exchange experience and methods of teaching foreign languages (on the basis of English), which had been worked out by partner schools. The schools presented interesting methods of working with teenagers, language events, innovative activities, which work well in the process of teaching foreign languages. Every school taking part in the project shared its successes and introduced them to partners. These interesting methods, working in international groups improved language skills and helped the students to get rid of mental barriers to use English in everyday life. The project was not only limited to language lessons. It also provided an opportunity to learn about history, culture, traditions and customs of partner countries, including their social, political, economic problems. The students had a chance to test themselves in various situations and their creativity improved. They also improved the use of modern computer technologies while working on documenting the project and creating final products. All the activities influenced every school society, made local people aware of the advantages of knowing foreign languages and were supposed to make it easier for teachers to teach and for students to learn effectively.
