PROJECT
FINISHED
This EVS project involved 2 female volunteers from the Netherlands and is the result of a successful partnership between two NGOs: UcDean (the Netherlands) and Center for European Initiatives (Ukraine). Project activities took palce in Sumy between May 2015 and February 2016.
The volunteers contributed to two initiatives in the Sumy region that aim at establishing and sustaining an East-West dialogue between young people from Ukraine and their counterparts from EU member-states. In Euroclubs, an extracurricular activity at local schools, issues relating to European integration have been discussed. In SAY clubs, Ukrainian young people participated in various intercultural social events which provided an alternative to spending free time individually at home.
This project promoted European values, active citizenship and intercultural dialogue. The partner organizations in this project are committed to keep this dialogue going by further deepening their partnership and using this EVS project as a launching pad for future activities in the field of youth, intercultural learning and East-West cooperation. A follow-up project takes place in 2016/2017.
