The projectSAY IT LOUD! is a project that was born out of the spectrum of cultural education with youths and young adult migrants and those that are socially disadvantaged. The goal is to bring the participants’ biographies into a theatrical form that pays respect to their individual situation and eventually develop this into a performance for stage intended for the public. Each theatre will be working with a group of between 10 – 12 participants. For the period of June 2016 until June 2017 a total of four activity visits are planned. During these visits experiences shall be exchanged and workshops be given. It is envisaged that the project will be continued until mid 2018.Together with artists and theatre pedagogues, participants shall be working on their biographies, voices, languages and on their abilities to express themselves physically. The practice of performing workshops, the space for telling their own stories and the diversity of the collective activities (logistical matters, workshops, decision-taking groups and discussions, cooking, cycling, organising events together, self-reflective sessions on individual and group learning etc.) will allow the participants to find their own strength and rely on it for the future.Meetings with one’s own culture as well as the cultures of the participating partners shall take place on different levels. This will offer an engagement with and an understanding of the European idea. The results of SAY IT LOUD! shall be made available to the public through theatre performances, the media as well as via social media. The partnersSAY IT LOUD! is a project that benefits from an international network. The partners are four theatres: Theater Dortmund (Germany, also coordinating partner), Teatermaskinen (Sweden), Compagnie des Mers du Nord (France) and ExQuorum (Portugal). The partners shall develop the project collaboratively whilst maintaining an exchange of information upon its progress. In addition to this, each partner also works with partners on a local level.
