PROJECT
FINISHED
The project is planned from 15.09.2015 to 15.09.2016. The main aim of the project is 14-days-long apprenticeship for 21 students who are being educated in technical collage as construction workers. This apprenticeship will be held in the Vocational Advancement Service of the Association of Construction Industry of Berlin – Brandenburg. This center was chosen due to many factors: it provides modern vocational training linking theory and practice, it is situated in Germany, the country which is the destination of work immigration form our country.
The aim of school is enabling students to fulfill their ambitions and dreams by organizing interesting and improving professional skills apprenticeship which will let students improve their professional and mental state. The apprenticeship will be a vital supplement of the professional skills connected with bricklaying and reinforcing that students were not able to improve during their apprenticeship in local employers.
The departure of beneficiaries is planned for the end of March 2016. During ten working days for 8 hours a day the students will have practical classes being supervised by German instructors and they will use well-organized working sites. Before the departure, in extra German lessons, the students will learn the terminology connected with the tasks involved in the project.
In the first week of apprenticeship during the stay in Germany, the beneficiaries will learn unconventional bricklaying tasks: building Gothic arched vaults, wall bricklaying in historical buildings and other bricklaying jobs allowing the students to get to know methods used in renovation of old buildings and monuments. Not only are these skills very rarely met in Polish construction market but also they are very needed in renovations of old buildings made of bricks.
In the second week of apprenticeship the students will learn about making reinforced skeletons for reinforced beams, pillars and concrete slabs. Practical skills of making reinforcement will allow students to acquire additional qualification in Poland “Construction works and concrete reinforcement”.
Conducting practical tasks the students will learn not only typical solutions but also searching for problematic solutions and will learn the skills of making correct decisions and optimal working techniques.
Thanks to achieving all goals mentioned above (improving skills and competences) beneficiaries will be able to provide complex and unconventional construction services in the future which are met with great interest. Both as workers and company workers they will increase their chances in work market.
Students of our schools come from different backgrounds connected with construction work. The apprenticeship abroad will create the need for mobility of our graduates. It will broaden their thinking perspectives in looking for their place in professional life not only in the local market.
The beneficiaries will be able to get to know the organization and culture of work in Germany, the way, level and quality of life of Germans and German customs and traditions. During weekends and other free days students will sightsee near Berlin and Brandenburg. This apprenticeship is a chance to break linguistic and mental barriers which gives much self-confidence in private and professional life.
The indirect aim of apprenticeship will be students’ motivation to systematical learning of foreign languages, especially vocational foreign language and vocational subjects. The ability of using a foreign language, especially in professional terms is vital for many local employers, which will also make finding a job easier.
