The project SaMe is a multilateral Youth Exchange involving a number of 28 participants and 7 group leaders from 7 different countries: Romania, Great Britain, Turkey, Estonia, Italy, Poand and Spain. The main topic of the project revolves around the idea of promoting volunteer work as a source of development for youngsters coming from different backgrounds. Following this main idea the project team decided to form, for the project, mixed groups including youngsters with fewer opportunities. Therefore, 30% of the participants will be young people with slight mental disabilities. The activities of the project will last 8 days (without travelling days) and will take place in Baia Mare and the surroundings. Therefore, each day has been planned according to a specific topic: the first day will be the one of getting to know the places, the project and the participants, the second day is the day of volunteering for awareness rising. There also activities connected to volunteer work in nature, volunteering in different institutions, NGO-s, rural environments. All the methods to be used are designed specifically for the profile of the group. All the activities will be led with the help of a specialised psychologist and with the help of the group leaders (social workers or youth workers). The main objectives of the youth exchange can be described as follows:o To take part in the personal development process of a number of 12 youngsters with mental disabilities by including them in 8 days of the activities of an international youth exchange in Baia Mare, side by side with youngsters without disabilities.o To promote the idea of volunteer work as source of benefits for all youngsters (regardless of their backgrounds) to a number of 28 participants and 7 group leaders that will be hosted for 8 days in Baia Mare and involved in activities on the topic of volunteering.o To create a platform for exchanging different experiences, views and values about youth participantion for youngsters coming from 7 different cultures.
