Samara Waldrof Kindergarten
Start date: Jan 1, 2016, End date: Jun 30, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

The Waldrof educational method is based on non - formal and informal education. It provides children with the experience oflearning, in a welcoming environment, through the development of imagination and creativity. The decision of involvinginternational volunteers living during 10 month in the Russian Waldrof Kindergartens’ activities is aimed at giving children theopportunity to grow up in an multicultural environment, where they could learn to be tolerant, respectful and curious towardspeople coming from different Countries, speaking different languages, sharing their cultures and raising awareness of Europeancitizenship. To give a volunteer the chance to apply for this EVS project means to give him the opportunity to improve his skills andto acquire new competences supporting the staff in the everyday activities, working with children applying the Waldrof method, organizing leisure time activities and developing his own project. The learning outcomes of his EVS experience will be useful to bespent in his future job research, as we know that is more and more difficult for young people to enter in the labor market, due to thelack of vacancies and the high level of previous experiences required. The project will be supported by 3 entities: the coordinating/sending organization “ColectivoGentes”, the hosting organization “Municipal Infant Educational Institution Waldorf Kindergarten”and the support organization “Lastochki”. The participant applying to this project is one, Jose Manuel Parejo, aged 25. He is a young with less opportunities, due to his low education grade, economical problems and social exclusion. He has previous volunteering experience in working with children: these elements suffice to validate his participation in this EVS project. The Kindergarten’s staff will support the volunteer. He will work depending on his abilities, developing his proper way of working. What the kindergarten asks is to follow the tasks as the time schedule fix them, in order to guarantee to children their daily routine. The desired impact would be that the volunteer will live in a multicultural environment, learning a new culture, practicing the Russian language, developing new skills and competences within the Waldrof Educational Method. Children will learn to deal with a foreigner, getting used to live in a multicultural context; the staff members will learn from the volunteer different teaching methods and practices. The volunteer will spread the Spanish culture between Russians and the concept of European Citizenship. The learning process and the acquired knowledge will be officially recognized thanks to the YouthPass certificate. What we finally expect is that this project would strengthen the cooperation between the partners for a future Key Action 2 project and the strengthening of the collaboration between the two Countries in order to solve bureaucratic issues, such as the visa regulations.
