S1-L12 Strengthening Training and Research through..
S1-L12 Strengthening Training and Research through networking and Globalization of teaching in Engineering Studies
Start date: Jul 15, 2011,
The main objective of this proposed project is to provide a quality international experience through the mobility of high quality students and emerging, early stage and established researchers between Europe and South Asia, with the objective of widening existing knowledge on electronics, energy, computing, sustainability and security of electronic communications systems, rational use of communications resources in the global market place, etc. A key feature will be the engagement of the Energy, ICT and Computing sectors in the project implementation, development of and possible hosting of research activities for participants. The project has been designed to deliver key benefits that are underpinned by the following strategic goals:
Undergraduate students carrying out 6-months study combined with individual research projects with their attachment to the best research laboratories in the EU universities and encouraging them to enrol them as future research students.
Shared post-graduate individual project supervision in the areas of Electrical Electronic Engineering, Information Technology, Energy Managements, Computer Engineering, Telecommunications and Biomedical Engineering.
Training of high quality doctoral engineering candidates who have been exposed to complementary and multidisciplinary engineering training experience in an international environment; in the areas like, nanotechnology, photonics, digital security, biomedical engineering, renewable energy, power system managements, etc.
Early career researchers who have acquired specialist knowledge in the area of novel technology in Energy, ICT and Computing sectors, and are fully equipped to apply this knowledge directly to a career in research and/or industry in a breadth of fields both nationally and multilaterally.
Staff who have enhanced teaching and research experience and development their experiences in the PhD supervision through initial joint PhD supervision, and through participation in, and contribution to, a well organised and structured programme of multilateral exchange between the partner institutions
