This project attempts to sustain research and innovation, bringing opportunities to both partner universities and non-consortium universities. The implementation of individual mobilities, with special emphasis to research and innovation, is expected to alleviate some structural problems in higher education. The overall aim of the proposal is to increase the role of research in HEIs of Central Asian by supplying knowledge transfer and capacity building to research administrators and doctoral students. At the same time, we expect to increase research collaboration between EU partner and Central Asia with a number of joint projects and bilateral agreements. This approach guarantees a positive impact of the mobility if Central Asian partners are also supported by government authorities and the industrial sector (e.g. by creating spin-off companies). Major efforts will be done to avoid brain drain. For this purpose, we have invited a selected number of associated partners from the industry to insert grantees into the labour market after arrival (specially TG II and III).In total, 88 mobility flows are expected given priority to PhD and academic staff (25,5% each). The distribution would be the following: 22 BA, 16 MA, 6 Post-docs and 22 PhDs and staff mobilities. 24 mobilities would be allocated for TG II and III. That is the equivalent of more than one third of all the mobilities excluding teaching staff - which are allocated exclusively to participants from TGI.
